The advanced high-sensitivity, thermoelectrically cooled family of PIXIS-XO
camera systems is designed with special back-illuminated CCDs without
anti-reflection coating for direct imaging of very low energy X-rays (< 30
eV). The rotatable conflat flange design provides ultra-high vacuum hard metal
seals with ability to align the CCD. When used with the software-programmable,
high-capacity, or high-sensitivity amplifier, this system effectively delivers
X-ray photon counting capabilities with up to 16-bit dynamic range. The
thermoelectrically air cooled option provides maintenance-free operation where
as water cooled option provides vibration-free operation. Dual-amplifier
configuration and independent gain settings. Our exclusive dual-amplifier configuration (high capacity and
low noise) enables PIXIS-XO to be used for high or low flux applications. Six
independent gain settings (e-/ADU) let you fine-tune the camera. For imaging
applications, the PIXIS-XO platform supports 1024 x 1024 and 512 x 512 format
devices with backilluminated CCDs without antireflection coating for very low
x-ray energy detection.
Optional Fiber optic data
interface. With optional fiberoptic
interface the camera can be operated from up to 800 meters.

The perfect
direct detection X-ray detector The high
sensitivity and resolution of these cameras in the energy range between 280 eV
and 540 eV (water window: 23 - 45 angstroms) make them well suited for studying
hydrated organic specimens at a resolution near that of an electron microscope,
but without the complex sample-preparation requirements. Therefore, the system
offers high contrast, good penetration in micrometer-thick water layers, and the
potential for high resolution. Furthermore, high-brilliance tunable x-ray
sources at synchrotrons allow x-ray microscopes to achieve element-specific
imaging, thus providing insight into structure composition.
