Energy Resolution in Direct Detection CCD Cameras

There are many parameters to consider to ensure that the theoretical energy resolution is realized with a direct detection CCD camera. A few of the most important parameters that deliver the highest energy resolution are, type of CCD used, best Charge Transfer Efficiency (CTE), lowest thermal noise, and linear response for the full dynamic range.
